"Maquette" concert with Chamber Ensemble.
"Maquette"
is a French word used by architects worldwide to mean "scale
model" or "mockup." A Maquette is a testing ground
for what's to follow, a model small enough to remodel.
We call this concert a Maquette because it is a trial run, or
test, for a set of concerts that will be filmed in November for
DVD. The final concerts will use full symphony orchestra. The
"Maquette" uses only eight musicians to represent the
full orchestra.
To learn more about what this "Maquette," will be like,
read the second page of the press
release (pdf) for this event.
