It’s the song to welcome the Sabbath. It’s special significance to me will be spoken in my final project. The song played straight is about 1.25 minutes. I want to extend it for several reasons, but the most important one is I love it and would like to play it for a longer time without just repeating it over and over. In this video, I didn’t start out playing it straight. I will do so in my final project before playing this “extended” version with improvisation. I can send you an .mp3 of it played straight if it will help you understand this submission. I’m playing it at a faster tempo than I normally would but I wanted to fit the whole thing into 90 seconds (plus a few!). It should be slower. \nI chose to improvise with the Swedish folk tune “Vem kan segla for utan wind” because it was a tune that we often sang together when we met during summertime, and the lyrics were a few of my first Swedish words I learnt.
\nWhen I listened to the recording, I had the impulse of adding some singing to it, not the original tune but a very free and lamenting version with dissonances to express the grief I feel.
\nWhen I played this version to my husband he said he did not like it at all, because it was not clean and too many dissonances, not the beauty of the tune, too emotional, almost embarrassing.
\nTo be honest I was really injured by these words.
\nI then sent both versions to the family to let them choose, and they took the instrumental version, which did not make it better for me.
\nI shared both versions in the Facebook group and was astonished about the completely different reactions. At first I felt much better, but then something weird happened: the ick voices arouse! All the positive comments were nothing but the attempt to be kind to me and not really honest. So embarrassed about these thoughts!<\/p>\n
\nIt is set to public view because it should be findable for all the relatives even if they don’t have the link.<\/p>\n
\nI think the file was very large in spite of being less than 90 seconds in length.

\nIn the end I chose neither You Have a Voice nor my oriental song. The feedback you gave me about my singing encouraged me to use this song for my project, because here the \u201csoft\u201d way of singing really “fits”.
\nThis is a very personal song for me and sharing it is way out of my comfort zone. It\u2019s a lullaby I wrote for my inner child, called “F\u00fcr meine Kleine”, meaning “For my Little One”.<\/p>\n

\nI also took a little poem and created a little song, like an old English folk song to sing before and after it. The little song sounds happy, compared to the feeling of the Winter Sky song which is a melancholy filling in this sandwich.<\/p>\n
\nI had just come from a long hike, looking at Oak trees and just sang and played without trying to contrive anything.
\nIn the middle I do an a cappella section and I think I was trying to convey something there and to me it looks unnatural and I look tense to myself.Does it to you, too?
\nMy question is, how does this “not trying” attempt come across? Also the harp seems really soft to me.<\/p>\n
\nAnd 2) Is there anything I can do to spice up the tune at the end? \u00a0I decided I would need a third hand to provide a drum beat, so I’ve abandoned that idea.<\/p>\n\n

\nThere is a bellbird singing towards the end of the tune which I liked as this \u00a0is a tune of Hope, and even with my mistakes the bellbird must have thought it sounded like music.<\/p>\n
