As my Los Angeles concert gets closer, I realized something important:
People often think there are two different versions of me.
The “Electric Harp Diva” onstage with leather bustiers, Latin rhythms and theatrical stories with music… and the slightly unhinged “Creative Lab Goblin” surrounded by burnt food experiments, improvisation structures and questionable hair choices — according to some.
So this week on social media, I decided to address the issue directly by sharing the image above.
Which is the REAL DHC?
The answer is: YES
And honestly, the line between “artist” and “obsessive creative” is slimmer than I thought. Because for me, creativity has always lived somewhere between deep exploration and the absurd — and something interesting always happens when those two things meet.

This month’s Harp Time Live episode became a sneak peek into the method I’m teaching inside Six Tunes in Six Weeks. Using everyone’s favorite tune of mine, “The Nightingale” , I showed how a simple musical structure can open the door to improvisation, variation, repertoire development, and creative freedom.

Collaboration: What Does it Take?
Last Friday’s Jung at Harp conversation started with the question: What does collaboration actually take?
Which turned out to be a much stranger question than I expected.
We wandered into everything from collaboration in music to collaboration with ourselves… to whether kindness might actually be a creative skill.
At one point I realized that a lot of creativity seems to begin the moment we stop arguing with ourselves long enough to listen to what’s trying to happen.
Which, honestly, may explain a lot about my life.
