Kansas,
Here I Come!
Sat.
Jan. 15 - McPherson Kansas
In
two days I'll be wearing
a snowsuit and ruby slippers.
My snowsuit is
for the weather that's about
to blast the Boston area,
and my ruby slippers
because I'm headed to KANSAS
for
a show at the beautiful old
McPherson Opera House.
(By
the way, last night I could
have sworn I heard a local
WBUR newscaster say, "Brace
yourselves for a GIANT
OYSTER headed in this direction!" I
was pretty excited until
I realized she actually
said "Nor-easter."
Now I'm just hoping
my plane will
take off - though it's
probably easier to clear
snow off a runway than
to clear up oyster slime.
But enough about
the weather...)
I'm
really excited about
playing at the old Opera
House in McPherson, Kansas
and not just because of the weather,
but because
...
Pre-Valentine's
Romance
Sat.
Feb. 12 in Salisbury
Beach, Massachusetts -
I'll playing at the
new Blue Ocean Music
Hall in Salisbury Beach,
MA just
two days before Valentine's
Day, so I decided to
make it a Pre-Valentine's
Romance Rally, and
play every love song
of mine that I can
get into the space
of a concert -- from
the first-date-in-a-parking-lot
"Dance
with Me" to
the eventually-to-become-a-classic
"Love Gone Bad" (hey!
Maybe I'll even get
my husband to bring
his Tuba for that one!).
This
is a great new venue,
less than an hour north
of Boston, with cabaret-style
table seating -- and
I've been brainstorming
with my Facebook Fans
about a great, short
name for the show,
so if you want to chime
in, join
me on Facebook, or ... just buy
tickets now.
Summer
Workshop
Opens
Celebration
Barn in South Paris,
ME -
The dates are finally
set (Aug. 15-20)!
The registration
is open! And I'm reallly looking
forward to this year's
summer "Performance
for Musicians" workshop,
where I spend an
intense 5-days with
musicians of many
styles,
from amateur to professional,
working on the fundamentals
of performance that
are just as true
for me when I first
learned them at Celebration
Barn in the 1980's
as they are today,
when I teach them
in the very same
Barn! There's
lots more information
here.
Year-in-Review
After
reading an inspiring
review of the year
by another artist,
I decided to sit down
and look at what I
actually did last year
and was surprised to
discover ...
See you soon!
