The Module 2 Homework for “Hip Harp Toolkit” to APPLY the 5-Part Arrangement form over and over and over throughout the week to at least 3 tunes. At the end of the week choose ONE of those tunes and create a 90-second impromptu arrangement of it.
The Module 1 Homework for “Hip Harp Toolkit” was to create a drawing illustrating the 5-Part Arrangement form. The Extra Credit Homework was to play a 5-Part Arrangement of any simple tune or scale.
The Final Beginning “Hip Harp Toolkit” and “Inside Jazz Tunes” Projects were to create something using the principles from the course.
Students presented their Half-Baked Project videos in which they show their ideas of what they’d like their Final Beginning Projects to be.
The “Hip Harp Toolkit” Module 7 Homework was optional. Students presented videos that focused on modulation.
The “Hip Harp Toolkit” Module 6 Homework was optional. Students presented videos that utilized what has been presented in all the modules.
The “Hip Harp Toolkit” Module 5 Homework was optional. Students presented videos that utilized what has been presented in all the modules.
The “Hip Harp Toolkit” Module 4 Homework was to create 3 vamps, create an arrangement using vamps, and discuss takeaways from the module.
The “Hip Harp Toolkit” Module 3 Homework was to create an Arrangement (using the 5-part arrangement form) and adding 6ths, 3rds or 1-5-10 chords. The optional homework was to create three “1-5-10” accompaniment patterns and to make a video using the patterns.
The Module 2 Homework for “Hip Harp Toolkit” was to create a repertoire of 3 or more tunes using the 5-part arrangement form and to play through them one after the other without stopping to “fix” them. At the end of the week, students were asked to video an impromptu arrangement of one of those tunes.
