I am having trouble with glissandos (mine or wimpy), and I’m not getting enough contrast between the baroque and flamenco sections.  I am having real trouble moving from the baroque to the first variation of the flamenco section and want help on making that transition.

I feel all thumbs today.  Nothing seems to be going right.  I was able to have fun and get into the spirit of the piece as long as I was faking the flamenco part, but now that I am trying to play what is written, I feel like I have lost the contrast.

Various interpretations of the rhythm section.
I’m not worried that I can’t currently play them perfectly, more that I can’t move easily from one to another.

I love playing the rhythm portions, but the first one I played is easiest for me and I keep reverting back to it when I really want some variety.  Also, when I try to just play the rhythm pattern, I slide into half not quarter note, three quarter notes, instead of the two dotted quarter notes in the first measure.  In the last attempt on the video, I recover after the first two measures, but I seem to need the right hand to keep the left hand honest.  Would like to use some octaves of just the beat.

I can play the other patterns if I look at the page, but that would be missing the point.
Maybe as I keep working on this, I’ll be able to compartmentalism which pattern goes where, but right now, I just keep reverting to the first pattern.
Also would like to look as if my dog didn’t just get run over.

This is a video of all the techniques Learned so far with some improvs.It runs overtime So I will have record as I frequently forget what I did the day before, 
   Not smiling because this is my first homework, ever and I just needed to plow through and get it done! Amazing. Finally, after three years the techno snail is catching up!
  Need to work on a defined noodle pattern with lever change so it can be on autopilot.

I think I am okay without coaching this week, I had some great coaching last week so want to give someone else a chance. I feel like the piece is really starting to come together for me – need lots more practice to smooth out the rough spots and know where my fingers are going to limit hesitations but definitely beginning to sound like Baroque Flamenco. Yeah! A year ago I thought I would never be able to play this piece.  Now I know it is totally possible!

I am feeling so much better about a lot of things this week.  I originally thought I would tackle the intermediate level but to get really grounded it in it I have now decided to focus on the beginner version, get that nailed then go back and add/change things to grow to the intermediate level after this live class is over.  Last week I ws stressed and nervous about my first submission and feedback but getting that very firstt one out of they way has shown me I do not need to stress over this. This week I was able to get a video I was happy with fillmed and posted in significantly less time that last week. Yeah!

The video is from last week! The description is about this week’s situation.

My mind is backfiring at me! I’ve now got so many snippets of the most beautiful musical possibilities in my mind! A big part of which I can’t technically learn to play quick enough to make them work. Another part could do, but they don’t give me the sound my mind now requires. And then the reading part, are 3 different versions that are all somewhat different from the sound I now have in my mind.
The 3th version is technically too much for me, but, when I play, there are snippets in my brain shouting at me how it has to sound. As well as from the other two and the versions learned by memory earlier. And I cannot fit all those heard snippets in the written music.
The result is that now it has become a musical struggle instead of a joy.

My normal solution would be to let it rest and when my brain has put all this beautiful junk in its cupboard, start afresh with just studying the 2nd written version on technique and then see what comes out of the cupboard later. But that’s not helpful with this course. I would be grateful for a better solution.
