What is Loop Your Harp Workshop

Loop Your Harp isn’t just about learning how to
use a Looper Pedal.

It’s about freeing you from the anxiety and paralysis that keeps a looper sitting untouched in its box — or keeps you from buying one at all, because you don’t trust yourself to figure it out.

It’s about learning to let the Looper Pedal liberate you from having to play every note – and instead learn to use the looper as an accompanist who’s at your beck and call.

FOR Harpists of ALL LEVELS – FROM FLEDGLING TO PROFESSIONAL

What You’ll Learn

The basics to get your looper working and your first fun loops

Whether you already own a looper and haven’t touched it in months (or years … or ever), or you’re standing at the edge of buying one and can’t make yourself commit, or you’ve got a looper and you want to learn what else you can do with it …

You’ll leave this workshop with a foundation, a plan for looper fluency and a handout of short loops that are fun to learn and play over.

Before the live online Workshop, you’ll get a PDF that contains the following items pictured here:

HERE’S WHAT YOU EXPERIENCE

Freedom from having to play every note

In the live session, we’ll practice the functions that matter — start, stop, overdub, clear — and the one rule that makes or breaks a loop: always start and stop on beat one. Once that’s in your body, loops stop being a puzzle and become a tool you reach for without thinking.

Here’s a video I did a few years ago explaining how I use a looper.
What we’ll be doing in the workshop is MUCH simpler than what I do in this video
– but this video shows you a little bit of how it works …

You don’t need to have the fanciest looper pedal

This is not individual troubleshooting or “Gear-Head” talk. My goal is to get you functional with a looper, not turn you into the fanciest loopist in the world.

Don’t have a looper readily available during the workshop?

Come with your looper connected, or just watch and apply it later — both are fine.

Meet your creative coach Deborah Henson-Conant

I’m Deborah Henson-Conant, and I’ve been composing, arranging and creating shows since I was a kid. I now play shows with symphonies and on solo stages with the electric harp that was created for me by CAMAC Harps, the “DHC” Harp.

But I started on the ukulele, playing and singing my own little-kid arrangements, telling stories, improvising and playing and singing with other people. And guess what? I use many of the same skills and principles to arrange the music I record and perform today – including the Grammy-Nominated album “Invention & Alchemy” and the song that won first prize in the International Songwriting Competiton (ISC).
