Sunday mornings, whenever I can, I go for a long run, and then I sit at the Kickstand Cafe and eat Vietnamese spring rolls. Last Sunday, a woman at the next table, leaned over and asked “Are you Deborah?”
When I said yes, she asked if I still play around the Boston area. I understand why she asked – these days I play more in Europe or out-of-state, but “In fact,” I said, “I was just playing out in Hopkinton last night.”
Then she leaned closer and I found out what she really wanted to ask: “Do you practice every day?” I laughed, and I said, “Absolutely! Whenever I can.”
What I didn’t tell her is that it can be tough to find time to practice once your career takes on a life of its own.
So a few years ago, I created a set of warm ups for myself that’s like a Cross-Fit Finger Gym – they work every part of my playing I want to strengthen in only about 20 minutes.
For years, these warm ups have been my secret go-to, and last month, I finally published them with the help of the Legacy Project Team – and we’ve just released the beta version for Intermediate to Advanced Lever Harpists.
Intermediate to Advanced Lever Harpists:
- Get the new “Modulation WARMUPS for LEVER HARP”
- Pedal harpists: stay tuned – the Pedal Harp version is coming soon!
Not ready for Intermediate to Advanced?
- We also created a Fledgeling/Intermediate training class with videos and a simpler version of the warmups, called the “Modulation Staircase”. Get the “Modulation STAIRCASE for Fledgling to Intermediate LEVER & PEDAL Harp”
